Patient Costs with Original Medicare:

• Annual Deductible: You must first pay your annual Part B deductible.
• Coinsurance: After meeting your deductible, Medicare will cover 80% of the approved cost for spinal manipulation. You are responsible for the remaining 20%.
• Non-covered Services: For any services not covered by Medicare, you are responsible for 100% of the cost.

Before beginning care, we encourage all Medicare patients to ask our front desk staff whether our chiropractors accept Medicare assignment. This means we agree to accept the Medicare-approved amount as full payment for covered services. If we do not accept the assignment, you may be charged more than the Medicare-approved rate, and you would be responsible for the difference.

If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, your chiropractic benefits may be different and could include additional services beyond what Original Medicare covers. Medicare Part B is medical insurance. It covers certain outpatient services, including some chiropractic care. Specifically, Medicare Part B covers manual manipulation of the spine by a chiropractor, but only when it is medically necessary to correct a spinal subluxation (a partial dislocation of the spine). At Vitalité Chiropractic, we will assess and document whether you have a spinal subluxation and if manual adjustment is required, in accordance with Medicare guidelines.

Other common chiropractic services—such as x-rays, massage therapy, acupuncture, or physical therapy—are NOT covered by Medicare Part B. If you require these additional services at Vitalité Chiropractic, we’ll discuss your options and any associated costs in advance.
